Overview • Progress in first year of SKADS • Forward look into second year • Mid Term Review SKADS Workshop 2006
Considerable progress given late start from many Design Studies • SKADS Project Structure is clear and well defined • Four out of the Six Design Studies have no or slight delay SKADS Workshop 2006
Technical Progress (highlights) next 18 months • DS 2 Preliminary Report on SKA configurations • DS 3: Report on site selection+phase transfer links, network analysis and report on MDA constructs • DS 4: 2-PAD design freeze • DS 5 First tile prototype is ready, 10-tile prototype in preparation • DS 6 BEST 1 is ready and BEST 2 well on the way • DS 7 Mid Term Review in Q3 2007 SKADS Workshop 2006
Towards Mid Term Review (MTR) • Goal is to show: • That configurations using Aperture Arrays are a viable technology to be used in SKA • Technical studies should focus on technical maturity and constructive cost models SKADS Workshop 2006
